Microsoft's Mac Web Server

Microsoft's personal web server works really well with Frontier.

Good evening!

I just got a beta release of Microsoft's personal web server software. It was very easy to get it to work with Frontier.

You can download a beta of the server software from our FTP server:

ftp://ftp.scripting.com/microsoft/personalWebServer/build018.sit.hqx

Follow Microsoft's instructions for installing the software on your server.

Connecting with Frontier

Create an alias of the Frontier application in the "My Personal Web Site" folder called frontier.acgi.

That's all you need to do, you don't have to set up an action or suffix mapping. It ships with a built-in connection to Frontier, it knows to map suffixes ending with ".fcgi" to the app named frontier.acgi in the web content folder.

To test it out, type:

http://www.yourserver.com/samples.tellParams.fcgi

into your web browser, of course subsituting the domain name or IP address of your server in place of "www.yourserver.com".

You can run this script on my LAN:

http://206.204.24.2/samples.tellParams.fcgi

It was really easy to set up and seems to work well.
